European Funding Fund pledges $20m to bolster Nordic sport improvement
The European Funding Fund (EIF) has pledged $21 million to bolster sport improvement in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
The funds – awarded to Swedish agency Behold Ventures – can be used to assist early-stage sport builders throughout the Nordic area.
Gaming throughout the EU generated $25 billion in income in 2022, and is “rising quicker than many different industries.”
Using greater than 75,000 individuals in 5,000 game-development and publishing studios throughout the EU, the EIF stated the funding is required to “fill financing gaps to take care of world competitiveness.”
Behold Ventures was based in 2021. Because the fund’s first closing in November 2022, it has invested practically $15m in 18 sport studios in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, and the UK.
